Sales Price minus $75,000 (homestead exemption) multiplies by 10% then multiplied
by the millage rate that the property is located in.

Example: $250,000 (sales price) - $75,000 = $175,000
$175,000 x 10% = $17,500
$17,500 x .10262 (millage rate for a home in Jefferson Parish) = $1795.85
