Driftwood Subdivision was one of the first subdivisions in Kenner is one the of the oldest. Driftwood subdivision took a while to complete so you have a variance in ages, sizes and prices. The prices in general are under 250k and the homes tend to be larger than those in Metairie a few minutes away. The more recent homes are more expensive and larger than the first ones built.
The ages of the homes will span from the late 1960's to the larger homes buillt in the 1980's. The styles will vary depending on when the homes were built. The ranches are style of the early construction. Later in time the variety of types and styles increases as larger homes were built.
You can almost divide Driftwood Park into the old section to the South, of moderately sized homes to the newer larger homes built in the back of the Driftwood North subdivision later in time. This is the area where you will find many of the homes in the 2500-3000 square foot of living.
The homes directly off West Esplanade are generally the smaller homes in the subdivision. The average size here is about 1700-2200. These are the older homes in the subdivision.
Driftwood is large enough to have its own elementary school. It has its gym, baseball fields, tennis courts in the center of the subdivision on Gelpi. It was designed to be almost self contained.
Its still an easy commute to New Orleans. Minutes away from the Airport. Minutes away from the mall and shopping. Minutes away from the lake as well.
