Chateau Estates Lakefront in Kenner is one of my favorite subdivisions when looking for homes in the 250-350k range.  There are many larger homes more expensive homes that back up to the lake.  Most of the homes are in the 25-30 year range.  There is a mixture of one and two story homes on larger lots.       The much larger homes back up to the lake levee and are much larger than those in the rest of the subdivision.  Most of the homes were built by small local builders.  You will find some homes built by National builders, these are few but the lack of quality is easy to see.        Most of the homes are going to range from 2000-3000 sq. ft of living.  You should always get a two car garage.  Brick ranches and Acadians are two of the more popular styles in the subdivision.  Many of the homes have been  updated and almost all are well maintained.          You also have a local swim and tennis center in the subdivision as well.  Its an easy commute to retail stores and offices.  You are within 2 miles of Chateau Country Club, a large golf and tennis club in Kenner.        These are some examples of the houses you will find in the area.  Just taken at random to give you some ideas.  More to come !
